About Us

The story of Sixty One Main starts, in truth, with COVID. I had only went back into the working world 2 months before my spa was shut down in 2020. Aesthetic businesses were closed for so long in New York State. The longer it went on, the more my husband encouraged me to explore my love of design and fashion. We had a few beauty items for purchase, but nothing worth stopping in to shop for. I resisted for a while. I didn't want to lose the spa. I had worked so hard to create her and rebuild my career after staying home for 3 years.
I started to lose staff because they needed full time jobs to pay their bills. Eventually I conceded that the few eyebrow waxes were not paying the bills so I was faced with a tough choice—I could give up or change courses.

So we rebranded as Homie Boutique. And I LOVED IT.
We rapidly, to my surprise, outgrew our little space and began the hunt for a new location. Somewhere I could expand, host events, and really grow our business. For so long, nowhere spoke to me.
Until one day I looked across the street and noticed a "for lease" sign. My realtor arranged a showing the next morning and next thing I knew we were shaking hands and I was the new owner of the 61 Main building! That’s how Sixty One Main came to be…
crazy, unexpected and perfect. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
XOXO,
Shannon
